I want to first welcome you to the IPSearch.io forums! The purpose of these forums is to give users access to a community of others who have the same interests. The forum should be a resource for getting your questions answered by the community. All information posted on the forums is public so we ask you consider that when making your post and mask information that is personal.

Types of posts

There are four types of threads users can make on our forums.

1) Discussion: This post is a discussion post and most posts will be. With discussion posts you simply enter what you want to discuss and others will reply to the thread.

2) Poll: You can make poll posts which allows you to attach polls to a discussion. This can be helpful when trying to determine the opinion of the community on a topic.

3) Question: You can post question threads that allows users to vote on the best response. This types of threads are helpful when needing to get a specific question answered and allows others to best understand the best answer.

4) Articles: Our staff and volunteers will write articles and you can respond to those articles just as you want a discussion thread. Regular forum users cannot create article threads.

Forum rules

Yes, we have rules like every other website that users must follow. You can read our rules here. Common sense goes a long ways to understanding our rules but some callouts are:

1) No personal attacks: You can disagree with other forum users but you must refrain from calling them names or any other attack that could be considered personal.

2) Do no post personal information: Personal information about yourself or another user does not belong on the forum and can contribute to online stalking or bullying.

3) Do not copy and paste from other websites: Do not copy and paste articles or content from other websites. You can paraphrase and link articles but you cannot copy and paste. Whether you think content is copyrighted or not does not change this rule.

4) Use common sense: We can't post every infraction an user might do but use common sense when making a post or the post will be removed. In some cases we will either warn or ban the offending user.

If you have questions then please ask!
